The BLACKHEAT ® AG Infrared Unitary Heater can be ideal for efficiently heating chicken brooders because infrared heaters heat floors and objects, not the air. The affect of a uniform, linear heat source along the centre of a brooding house provides a thorough drying of the litter that reduces moisture, bacterial count, ammonia production, foot condemnation and the count of disease carrying beetles. Uniform side to side temperatures are accomplished in only a few hours of pre-warming. The uniform temperature eliminates birds "piling on" and can provide an increase in water consumption that may yield an increase in feed conversion and the overall health of the flock. |
